What is the definition of Readily Biodegradable?
A material is described or classified as ‘readily biodegradable’ if
there is evidence from standard tests that it will be broken down
by living organisms and thus removed from the environment. To
pass the most stringent tests defined by the OECD, at least 60-
70% of the material must be broken down within 30 days.
